CARE GUIDE - Alocasia

WATER - Alocasia plants like the soil to be evenly moist. Let the soil dry before watering. They don’t respond well to over watering. Wet leaves, and soggy soil can encourage fungal infections. Check the soil of the plant frequently until you are sure of the plant's watering needs. Alocasia plants require less water during the winter when it's dormant.

LIGHT - Alocasia plants require moderate bright light, although you should avoid direct sunlight on their leaves as this can cause foliage burn.

TEMPERATURE - These plants prefer a high humidity. There are tricks to increase the humidity for indoor plants. You can place the plant on a tray filled with pebbles and water. Be sure the plant is sitting on the pebbles and not in the water. You can also increase the humidity by placing a small humidifier near the plant or grouping plants together. Do not mist the plant; misting encourages plant diseases.
